Deep in the mountains of northwestern Sichuan, on the Tibetan plateau, there exists a town (Yarchen/Yaqing/亚青) in an isolated, beautiful and clean valley that is actually an entire monastery itself -- so everyone is dressed in red robes. Conditions are quite tough, as it's high, cold, cut off from the outside in times of bad weather, and there is no electric power plant -- the locals more or less live with nature in isolation. Few people actually hear of this place and its location is rarely marked on maps, so the lack of visitors I suppose helps them concentrate. It is a beautiful place -- took some photos a couple of months ago in winter (admittedly, sleeping in -15 degrees C weather wasn't that easy!):
